  • Complete disconnection from reality lasting more than a few days
  • Severe depression that prevents daily functioning
  • Persistent belief that you are being harmed by external forces

What to Expect When You Call

When you contact a crisis line:

  4. They won’t judge you or force you to do anything
  5. They can help you make a safety plan or find local resources

Integration Support (Non-Crisis)

If you’re struggling with integration but not in crisis:

  • Psychedelic.Support - Peer support and education

Important Reminders

Ayahuasca Is Not a Cure-All

If you’re experiencing a mental health crisis, please reach out to trained professionals. Ayahuasca can be a powerful tool for healing, but it is not:

  • A replacement for mental health treatment
  • A substitute for medication (don’t stop meds without medical guidance)
  • Appropriate for everyone (especially those with psychosis history)
  • A quick fix for complex trauma

Integration Is Where Healing Happens

The ceremony is just the beginning. Real healing requires:

  • Daily practices to embody insights
  • Professional support when needed
  • Time and patience with yourself
  • Community and connection
  • Consistent effort over months and years

Explore our Integration Resources when you’re ready.

For Loved Ones

If someone you care about is struggling after ayahuasca:

  1. Listen without judgment. Don’t dismiss their experience.
  2. Encourage professional help. Offer to help them find a therapist.
  3. Be patient. Integration takes time.
  4. Watch for warning signs. If they’re a danger to themselves or others, seek emergency help.
  5. Take care of yourself. Supporting someone in crisis is hard. You need support too.

You Are Not Alone

Thousands of people have faced difficult moments after ceremony. Many have experienced crisis. And many have found their way through to healing.

Whatever you’re experiencing right now, it will not last forever.

Help is available. You deserve support. Please reach out.
