Privacy Policy

How we handle your data with respect and transparency

Last updated: November 14, 2025

Our Commitment to Your Privacy

We take your privacy seriously. This site collects minimal data, shares nothing with third parties for profit, and respects your right to browse safely. This policy is plain language, not legalese—no tricks, no hidden clauses.

What Data We Collect

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not use cookies. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, nothing hidden.
  • We do not collect personal information. No names, emails, phone numbers, or user accounts unless you voluntarily submit information through a contact form.
  • We do not sell or share your data. Ever. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
  • We do not use retargeting pixels. No Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads tracking, no behavioral advertising.

Information We DO Collect (Minimal)

Analytics Data (Privacy-Focused)

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service that does NOT:

  • Store personal data
  • Use cookies
  • Track you across multiple websites
  • Build user profiles
  • Require cookie banners or consent management

Plausible collects only:

  • Page views: Which pages people visit (not who visits them)
  • Referrers: Where traffic comes from (Google, direct, etc.)
  • Device type: Mobile, desktop, tablet (not device identifier)
  • Country/Region: Based on IP (aggregated, not stored)
  • Browser/OS: General information (not personal)

This data helps us understand what content is useful and how to improve the site. It's aggregate, anonymous, and never linked to individuals.

Service Worker Cache

We use a service worker to enable offline access. This caches pages in your browser so you can read content even without internet. All caching happens locally on your device—nothing is sent to our servers.

Contact Form Data (If You Contact Us)

If you submit information through a contact form:

  • We collect only what you voluntarily submit (name, email, message)
  • We use this only to respond to your message
  • We do not store it longer than necessary
  • We do not share it with anyone

How We Use Your Data

  • Analytics: To understand which content is helpful and improve the site
  • Email replies: To answer questions or respond to feedback
  • Offline access: To cache pages locally in your browser

That's it. We don't use your data for advertising, profiling, or any hidden purposes.

Third-Party Services

We use minimal third-party services. Here's what we use and why:

Plausible Analytics

  • What: Privacy-focused web analytics
  • Data shared: Aggregate page view data only
  • Policy: Plausible Privacy Policy
  • Why: To understand content performance without tracking individuals

External Links

This site links to external resources (crisis resources, therapy platforms, etc.). Those sites have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their data practices. Always review the privacy policy of any external site before sharing information.

Data Retention

  • Analytics data: Retained for historical analysis. Plausible does not use cookies, so no tracking between visits.
  • Contact form data: Deleted after responding to your message, or after 90 days if no response needed
  • Cache data: Stored only in your browser, not on our servers

Your Rights (GDPR & Privacy Laws)

Depending on where you live, you have rights regarding your data:

For EU Residents (GDPR)

  • Right to access: You can request what personal data we hold
  • Right to deletion: You can request we delete your data
  • Right to rectification: You can correct inaccurate data
  • Right to object: You can object to data processing
  • Right to port: You can request your data in portable format

Since we collect minimal personal data and use privacy-focused analytics, these rights are straightforward. To exercise any of these rights, email us with your request.

For California Residents (CCPA)

  • Right to know: You can request what personal information we collect
  • Right to delete: You can request deletion of personal data
  • Right to opt-out: You can opt out of data sales (we don't sell data, so this is moot)
  • Right to non-discrimination: You won't be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights

Security

  • This site uses HTTPS encryption for all connections
  • We do not store sensitive personal data on our servers
  • Contact form data is transmitted securely

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we become aware that a child has submitted information, we will delete it immediately.

Do Not Track (DNT)

We respect Do Not Track browser signals. Since we use privacy-focused analytics that don't track individuals between sites, DNT doesn't apply to our analytics. However, we honor the spirit of DNT by collecting minimal data regardless.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy if our practices change. We'll always update the "Last Updated" date. If we make significant changes, we may notify you. Continued use of the site means you accept the changes.
